This is a full-time, on-site role for Interior Design & Supervision of a five-star hotel project. The role involves developing and reviewing interior designs, drawings, materials, and finishes while coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors. The position will supervise site execution, ensure quality and design standards are maintained, resolve site issues, and ensure project timelines and specifications are met.
Key Responsibilities
1. Interior Design & Documentation
- Develop, review, and coordinate interior design concepts, layouts, details, and working drawings.
- Review architectural, interior, MEP, structural, and specialist drawings for coordination and constructability.
- Prepare and review detailed drawings for guestrooms, suites, lobbies, restaurants, corridors, public areas, meeting rooms, offices, back-of-house areas, and other hotel facilities.
- Review furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) layouts and coordinate with procurement and suppliers.
- Prepare material specifications, finish schedules, color schemes, and interior detailing.
- Review shop drawings, samples, mock-ups, material submissions, and technical proposals.
- Ensure design intent is maintained throughout construction.
2. Site Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day interior fit-out and finishing works at the project site.
- Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Inspect workmanship, dimensions, alignment, levels, finishes, and installation quality.
- Ensure proper execution of flooring, wall finishes, ceilings, partitions, doors, joinery, decorative works, painting, furniture, lighting, and other interior elements.
- Identify construction issues and coordinate timely corrective actions.
- Conduct regular site inspections and prepare inspection reports.
3. Quality Control
- Maintain the high-quality finishing standards expected in a five-star hotel.
- Establish and monitor inspection and quality-control procedures for interior works.
- Inspect materials and workmanship before approval and installation.
- Ensure approved samples and mock-ups are strictly followed.
- Identify defects, issue observations/punch lists, and monitor rectification.
- Participate in snagging, de-snagging, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
4. Coordination
- Coordinate closely with architects, consultants, structural engineers, MEP engineers, project managers, contractors, suppliers, and hotel operations teams.
- Resolve design and construction conflicts through proper technical coordination.
- Attend design coordination, progress, and site meetings.
- Coordinate interior works with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ELV, lighting, and other building services.
- Ensure service outlets, access panels, equipment, and maintenance requirements are properly integrated into interior finishes.
5. Project Schedule & Progress
- Monitor interior works against the approved project schedule.
- Track daily and weekly progress of contractors and subcontractors.
- Identify potential delays and coordinate recovery measures.
- Provide progress updates to the Project Manager/Design Manager.
- Coordinate material delivery and installation sequences to avoid delays.
6. Material & Vendor Coordination
- Review and approve material samples in accordance with project specifications and approved designs.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers regarding technical requirements and installation methods.
- Inspect delivered materials for quality, quantity, specifications, and damage.
- Support procurement teams with technical evaluation of interior materials and products.
- Verify that materials are approved before installation.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain updated drawings, specifications, material approvals, inspection records, and site instructions.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly interior progress reports.
- Maintain records of RFIs, technical submissions, shop drawings, approvals, variations, and site observations.
- Review as-built drawings and ensure proper documentation before handover.
