KOSHISH is a non-governmental self-help organization registered in District Administration Office, Kathmandu in 2008 and affiliated with Social Welfare Council. KOSHISH is a right-based organization working extensively in advocacy in and multi-disciplinary and holistic mental health and psychosocial support in Nepal. In addition, KOSHISH is also working in system strengthening and creating a model that the government and other stakeholders may able to replicate.

Job Description

KOSHISH is creating alliance of person with psychosocial disabilites and family member to promote their voices. In order to implement the project KOSHISH is running a programme "Voices of KOSHISH" – Support Self-help Capablities for people with psychosocial disabilities in Nepal. The team leader/Social Worker will be responsible to manage the peer groups and provide specialized councelling for the person with psychosocial disabilities, under the project.

  • Implementing overall activates including monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annually
  • Facilitatating self-help groups meeting and leadership training among group leader and co- leaders of self-help groups
  • Manageing the financial arrangement ( bills, vouchers receipts etc.) with close cordination with finance department
  • Forming and strengthening self-help groups in the targeted area
  • Visiting homes, provididing basic counseling (individual and groups) for persons with psychosocial disability in targeted area
  • Makeing referral mechanism for specialized counseling sessions to the beneficiaries
  • Linking the peer support groups with existing programme of KOSHISH and other related agencies for psychiatrist treatment, medications and other income-generating the programme for beneficiaries
