Term, Location & Duration:  

  • Fixed term initially for one year based in Cluster Office

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical assessments at field level in coordination with other SC thematic areas and/or other external sector agencies, ensuring assessment findings are documented and that all assessments include a specific analysis of children’s needs.
  • With support from the lead Shelter Adviser and/or other senior programme staff, develop project plans and budgets, contributing towards an overall thematic programme plan and master budget.
  • With support from the lead Shelter Adviser and/or other senior programme staff, support fundraising for your area, including contributing to the development of high quality concept notes and proposals.
  • Prepare and oversee project implementation to ensure timely delivery of project activities (for example, monitoring against log frames, individual performance management work plans).
  • With support from the Lead Shelter Adviser and/or other senior programme staff, prepare timely programme and donor reports on project activities in compliance with internal SC requirements and any relevant external donor requirements. 
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal team (HR, Finance, Logistics, MEAL) and external stakeholders team for holistic developmental approaches.
  • Build capacity, advocate and represent in different forums as appropriate

Required Qualification and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural or Architectural Engineering or related discipline and 2 years of relevant experience
  • Awareness of public health issues in emergency shelter or settlements, with attention to specific needs of women and children. 
  • Awareness of transitional shelter and settlements options including technical design, host family support, collective centres and camps 
  • Previous experience in running NFI distribution programmes 
  • Previous experience of project management
