Job Description

General Objective:

Facilitating the development, management and implementation of Programmes in line with the CBM global programme strategy, country strategy and within the CBM’s Standards and Budgets through appropriate Programme Management systems.

To work across teams, develop cross cutting programmes and support capacity development of the country office and programme partners for the assigned areas of specialization.

Duties &responsibilities:

  • Develop a good working relationship and knowledge of partner portfolio to identify strengths, capacities, needs, potentials
  • Communicate with partners as the first point of contact
  • Identify needs and support the Country Co-ordinator to organise training and capacity building for CBM NCO partners
  • Liaises with CBM IO, Member Associates, project partners, consultants, advisors and co-workers who are connected to the respective projects under his/her care in coordination with the Line Manager
  • Solicit partner feedback to improve support
  • Initiate and support development of innovative projects/ programmes
  • Project management
  • Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation 
  • Ensure adequate documentation of assigned projects
  • Plan, initiate and develop multi-year/annual plans and special initiatives, and monitor and report the implementation with project partners
  • Plan and coordinate financial reviews/ assessment of partners in consulting with the programme finance team and respective line managers.
  • Support development of inclusive programmes in coordination with partners and CO teams. 
  • Support cross cutting initiatives from other departments in discussion with the line managers  
  • Co-ordinate and provide reports as required on projects for internal and external stakeholders including funders
  • Assists the finance section in the evaluation of financial statement and accounts abstract and in the preparation of accounts checklists for projects his/ her care. 
  • Co-ordinate the appointments with partners for project visit for MAs and other visitors, and PR related visits
  • Plan and coordinate needs assessment /baseline studies for developing projects and also for evaluation of projects in consultation with respective Line Manager.
  • Support in developing / conducting action research / studies for developing projects and in documenting good practices for PR, replication and evidence of good programmes implementation with respective Line Managers.
  • Capacity Building
  • Documenting and sharing of experiences and good practices followed in partners organisations.
  • Contribute to D&ID training materials and train the partners on different aspects of D&ID as and when appropriate. 
  • Supports to plan and organize workshops/ trainings in a time bound manner and represent CBM at conferences, workshops and seminars when assigned.  

Professional 

Technical Skill

  • Good communication skills in English and Nepali (oral & written)
  • Computer literacy with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel & Power Point.
  • Knowledge of developments in the education sector and inclusive education or special education and working with children with disability
  • Fluency in regional languages 
  • Experience in partnership management -  planning, implementation, monitoring and financial management of projects in the development sector 
  • Experience in developing proposals for projects 
  • Knowledge of disability, global developments & cross-cutting issuesBehavioural Skills

Education and experience

  • Graduate/PG degree in Special Education or general education 
  • Masters or Bachelor degree in Rehabilitation Science
  • At least 5 years of working experience on disability and development, partner support, planning and monitoring
  • 2-3 years of experience in disability sector or social development sector and working with related multi-lateral agencies/international agencies
