The Senior Coordinator - Supply Chain Management will manage all local and international procurements regarding pharmaceutical items and other health commodities under the Global Fund costed extension period grant. This includes procurement of medicines, laboratory equipment, reagents, consumables and other items.

 

Term and Location: Short term position from September 2014 to Mid March 2015 under Global Fund, Kathmandu

 

Required Qualification: At least Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in Pharmacy with at least 5 years of professional experience in procurement of pharmaceutical items and other health commodities preferably in INGOs

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

S/he should have sound knowledge & skills in Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) and proven experience in local & international procurement of pharmaceuticals items & other health commodities. The position holder should have expertise and prior experience in forecasting, quantification & specifications of pharmaceuticals/health products. S/he should have the ability to update the Price Quality Reporting (PQR) as per the Global Fund requirements and assure the standard quality of all the health items/commodities procured. S/he should have strong understanding of HIV prevention, treatment, care and support programs. Prior work experience with Global Fund procurement is highly preferred. S/he should have experience in contract and supplier relationship management along with high degree of negotiations tact and diplomacy skills to coordinate and collaborate with suppliers and other relevant stakeholders.

S/he should have good interpersonal skill, fluency in both English and Nepali language (written and spoken) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office package. Knowledge and proficiency in SCMS related software and web-based tools would be additional advantage. The position holder is expected to have learning aptitude and the ability to work independently as well as a part of team under pressure/stress.
