Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a highly experienced and result-oriented Senior Civil Engineer to oversee, review, supervise, and support our ongoing hotel and infrastructure construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, exceptional project coordination skills, and the capability to seamlessly handle both senior-level management responsibilities and practical, field-level engineering tasks when required.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and monitor all hotel and infrastructure construction activities.
Review engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, and core project documents.
Coordinate extensively with consultants, contractors, architects, and management teams.
Ensure project execution strictly complies with approved drawings, quality standards, and timelines.
Assist in detailed construction planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Serve actively as a member of the Project Management Consultant (PMC) board.
Conduct technical reviews of survey reports, valuation reports, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and engineering submissions.
Verify quantities, measurements, and ongoing civil work progress.
Support site teams efficiently in resolving technical and construction-related issues.
Review material specifications and construction methodologies to monitor structural, finishing, and infrastructure works.
Conduct regular site inspections and prepare comprehensive progress reports.
Coordinate with government authorities, consultants, and relevant stakeholders where necessary.
Ensure rigorous documentation, reporting, and compliance with project requirements.
Monitor contractor performance and work quality while enforcing strict quality assurance (QA/QC) procedures.
Assist management in cost control, value engineering practices, and procurement evaluations related to civil construction materials and works.
Lead, mentor, and guide junior engineers and site supervisors.
Maintain professional discipline, smooth coordination, and teamwork across all project sites.
Balance managerial review tasks with hands-on, practical field-level engineering support as needed.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of construction management, project execution, surveying, valuation, estimation, BOQ, and contract management.
Document Review: Proven ability to thoroughly review technical drawings and engineering documents.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel, and other relevant engineering software.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, reporting, and documentation skills.
Work Attributes: Strong professional ethics, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently outside the Kathmandu Valley.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 10 years

Other Specification

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's Degree preferred).
Must be registered with the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC).
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in construction and infrastructure projects.
Must have successfully completed at least 3 major projects (preferably hotel, commercial, or medium-range infrastructure projects).
Experience in hospitality or high-rise projects will be considered a strong added advantage.
