Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are looking for a highly accountable and detail-oriented Senior Accountant who can provide clear, accurate, and timely visibility of the company’s financial position.

This role goes beyond bookkeeping; you will be responsible for ensuring that management always knows exactly where the business stands, including performance across outlets, inventory in the warehouse, and any financial discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Visibility

Prepare accurate monthly financial reports (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet)
Provide clear breakdowns of performance by outlet, franchise, and business segment
Ensure management has a complete and understandable picture of the company’s financial position at all times

Inventory & Warehouse Control (Critical Area)

Maintain strict control over inventory movements across warehouse and outlets
Treat inventory as a core financial asset and ensure accurate valuation and tracking
Monitor stock levels, usage, wastage, and discrepancies
Conduct regular reconciliations between physical stock and system records
Identify and report any leakages, losses, or inconsistencies immediately

Daily Accounting & Reconciliation

Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and up to date
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations (cash, bank, inventory, sales)
Maintain clean and organized financial records

Discrepancy Identification & Problem Solving

Actively identify errors, gaps, and inconsistencies in financial data
Investigate and explain any discrepancies in numbers clearly and confidently
Implement corrective measures to prevent recurring issues

Compliance & Audit Support

Ensure compliance with Nepal tax regulations (VAT, TDS, filings)
Maintain proper documentation for audits
Support internal and external audit processes

Systems & Process Discipline

Implement and maintain strong financial and inventory control systems
Ensure proper SOPs are followed across outlets and the warehouse
Improve reporting systems for better clarity and efficiency

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 5 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA/ACCA pursuing is a plus)
5-7+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in retail, FMCG, or multi-outlet businesses
Strong understanding of inventory management and cost tracking (mandatory)
Good knowledge of Nepal taxation and compliance requirements
Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, Zoho, or similar)
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to explain financial data clearly and confidently
