Position Title: Project Officer (DRR)
Location: Chunadevi, Kathmandu, Nepal
Length of Contract: One year (fixed term) with three months’ probation period.
Salary: Negotiable
Reports to: Head of Programs
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan the overall coordination of the project activities (DRR) at local level in coordination with the Head of Programs
- Develop Field mobilization plan on a regular basis as guided by supervisor
- Regular Communication with the stakeholders and government agencies for network meetings, workshops and review meetings.
- Assist supervisor in preparing the project activities timeline, work plan and budget plan
- Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information
- Assist the expatriate as per need during, before and after the workshops
- Maintain proper record of attendance sheet, photographs and relevant documents for every workshop, meetings and project activities
- Facilitate the visits of officials from IsraAID, Donor Agencies and Government agencies at local level
- Report the progress and any project related developments to the supervisor on periodic basis as set by the supervisor
- Responsible for handling and managing any kind of disputes related to project at local level in close coordination with supervisor
- Responsible for maintaining the expenses at local level in a format approved and provided by donor agencies/implementing partner
- Coordinate with local NGO for logistic arrangements of DRR related project activities
- Coordinate and facilitate the monitoring and evaluation processes and visits from any level and any stakeholders
- Acquire the necessary supporting documents, approval certificate and completion certificate from the local institutions after completion of workshops and other project activities
- In coordination with implementing partners coordinate and facilitate the procurement process of Disaster kits and workshop materials
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Social Science, Engineering or Disaster related stream from recognized University
- Minimum 1 years of Experience working in similar position
- Minimum 1 year of working experience in development sector, I/NGOs. Previous experience in INGOs is preferable
- Experience and understanding in implementing project activities in accordance with Social Welfare Council norms and regulations and as per Project Agreement (PA)
- Fluency in English and Nepali, strong written and oral communication
- Basic knowledge of DRR, financial management, reporting, procurement procedure and coordinating implementing partner for non-profit organizations
- Previous work experience in facilitating workshops and working with expatriates. (Related with DRR would be preferable)
- Shall understand the basic terminologies and have knowledge on Disaster Risk Reduction and previous familiarity with translating
- Strong computer skills on Windows packages (MS OFFICE)
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity

- The candidate will demonstrate the capacity to work under stressful conditions respecting deadlines
- Candidates with open ideas and thoughts with flexibility to work as per the project needs are desirable
- Candidates with two wheeler vehicle and with necessary driving license are highly preferable
- Availability to start the job in March 2018 (Third Week)
