Job Description

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer with strong report and proposal writing skills to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing robust planning, monitoring, and evaluation frameworks, as well as producing high-quality reports and proposals to communicate the impact of our programs and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic planning frameworks to guide the organization's programs and projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for each program.

2. Monitoring:

  • Establish monitoring systems to track the implementation progress of programs and projects.
  • Regularly collect, analyze, and report data on program activities, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges and propose corrective actions as needed.

3. Evaluation:

  • Design and conduct evaluations to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of programs.
  • Utilize a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to gather data and assess program outcomes.
  • Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports with actionable recommendations for program improvement.

4. Report Writing:

  • Produce high-quality project reports for organization including donors, partners, and government agencies.
  • Synthesize complex data and information into clear and concise reports that communicate program achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Ensure that reports adhere to organizational and donor requirements and are submitted in a timely manner.

5. Proposal Writing:

  • Lead the development of project proposals, concept notes, and funding applications in collaboration with program teams.
  • Conduct research, gather relevant data, and write compelling narratives to articulate project objectives, activities, and expected outcomes.
  • Coordinate with technical and finance teams to ensure that proposals are technically sound and cost-effective.

6. Capacity Building:

  • Provide training and technical assistance to staff and partners on monitoring and evaluation best practices, as well as report and proposal writing skills.
  • Foster a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the organization.

7. Collaboration and Networking:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment of monitoring and evaluation activities with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Represent the organization in relevant meetings, workshops, and conferences related to monitoring, evaluation, and resource mobilization.
