About the Project: Plan International Nepal is implementing third phase of earthquake response project "Inclusive and Adaptive Recovery and Resilience Support for Earthquake affected Communities" funded by Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC). The project aims to address the recovery of livelihoods, rehabilitation of water supply schemes, hygiene promotion and DRR through adaptive and inclusive approach. The project is being implemented in Dolakha district.  

 

Purpose: The position holder will be responsible for overall coordination and management of programmatic and financial aspects of the project. S/he will establish and manage partnership, ensure effective project implementation, project monitoring and evaluation and administrative arrangement. 

 

Term and Location: Fixed term employment till 30 April 2018 based at Country Office, Lalitpur.

 

Required Qualifications and Experiences: 

  • Master’s Degree in Humanitarian Action /Project Management/ Social Sciences or relevant disciplines
  • At least 6 years work experience in project management
  • Experience of working with Institutional donors and large grants
  • Experiences in humanitarian sector such as earthquake response in Nepal will be added value
  • Experience of managing multi-sectoral project with different components such as livelihood, WASH, shelter and DRR
  • INGO work experience preferred

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the development of technical documents, implementation plan, operational processes and budget for field level implementation in coordination with project team
  • Supervise and ensure the implemented interventions are at the best quality with the most competitive costs and they respond to nationally and globally recognized standards
  • Manage partnership (national and local partners) for effective and timely implementation of the project
  • Ensure that the relevant technical capacities are available with partners for the delivery of plans and reporting
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders and provide information about project objectives, risks, constraints and progress in a timely manner
  • Oversee financial management of project and oversight all administrative arrangements
  • Monitor implementation of activities and budget expenditure as per the plan
  • Ensure timely communication and coordination with donor and DEC platform in coordination with grants team
  • Produce relevant reports related to project and ensure timely submission to donor and stakeholders
  • Develop and implement project exit strategy and facilitate joint meetings amongst the member agencies and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate to conduct external evaluation of DEC funded project
