Feminist Dalit Organization along with its implementing partners, Women for Human Rights (WHR) and Tewa is implementing a project entitled Participation and Voice for Excluded Women in Nepal (PAVE) with the support of WomanKind Worldwide and Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). The project aims to improve the participation, leadership and influence in decision-making in the local and provincial level government across formal and informal spheres of 1,376 women (including marginalized women) in five districts in Province 7 of Nepal. FEDO is seeking a competent and committed professional to support Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) under PAVE project.

The MEAL officer is located in Kathmandu and will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and Executive Director.

Project Name: Participation and Voice for Excluded Women in Nepal (PAVE)

Project Information:

PAVE project aims to support and strengthen women: 1) Individual political leaders - elected women, including those who are marginalized, will have improved knowledge, skills and resources to participate in governance and represent the views of their constituents more effectively; 2) Individual civil society leaders will be enabled to become aspirant political leaders - members of WROs, including those who are marginalized, will have increased capacity to engage in local politics and decision-making that affects their lives; and 3) Communities will be enabled to provide increased support to women to participate meaningfully in civil society and politics; and 4) The women’s movement will take coordinated and collective action at all levels to change negative gendered social norms in support of women’s participation.

Position summary:

This position will be responsible for overall management for effective implementation of the project in Achham District- Mangalsen Municipality and Bannigadhi Rural Municipality with effectiveness and efficiency in coordination and advisory support of Project Manager and Executive Director. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall management of project ensuring quality of inputs, process and results.
  • Lead to development of DIP with detail breakdown of budget and revise as and when necessary or on periodical basis.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for all the project activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of all outputs of the project.
  • Ensure all documents are being generated for program success with evidence.
  • Prepare monthly activity plan and provide to the project supervisors of every month.
  • Prepare monthly progress report and database as per the activities carried out.
  • Assign and Supervise filed staffs in their assigned work.
  • Supervise the activities conducted with compliance at community and district level.
  • Oversee project procurement management.
  • Analyze risks and opportunities, create comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports.

Academic:

  • Master's Degree in social science, economics, development studies or any related field

Experience:

  • 3-year work experience in project implementation, especially in Dalits and marginalized women issues

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator, experience in project management from conception to delivery
  • Ability to prepare and interpret data, schedules and step-by-step action plans
  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of all outputs of the project
  • Good understanding of the socio-economic, legal and political context of Nepal; Rights Based Approach (RBA) to development; Dalit movement, current debates and issues
  • A good understanding of logframe analysis tools (LFA) and demonstrated use of these tools
  • Leadership Skills
  • Training, Managing Skills and Advisory skills
  • Strong Advocacy, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Fluency in Nepali and English both in written and verbal.
  • Personnel Management: Staff development, coaching and facilitation, team building.
