  • Significant experiences in Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) / Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) programme and Nutrition in Emergency (NiE) is mandatory.
  • Strong computer literacy and expert knowledge of database and spread sheet applications such as excel is essential, statistical and other M&E applications software e.g. SPSS
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent Nepali and English communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in diverse environment with short deadlines and intense pressure

Job Description

Overall preparation and considerations for start-up of the nutrition and health activities in the district:

  • Collect district information and details of health workers (HWs), Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) and other relevant information for planning process.
  • Develop weekly/monthly plan for Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) programme.
  • Support to plan, develop and conduct capacity building activities e.g. trainings to health workers (HWs), Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs), partner organizations’ staff and other groups, according to the implementation plan and in line with national protocols/guidelines/materials.

Coordination, communication, linkages and social mobilization:

  • Communicate and coordinate between the outpatient therapeutic care (ITC) centre, inpatient therapeutic care (ITC) centre and community (HWs, FCHVs, local influential people e.g. Village Development Committee (VDC) secretary etc.) with IMAM approach.
  • Communicate and coordinate to establish good relationship with District Health Office (DHO)/District Public Health Office (DPHO)/Health facilities (HFs), District Support Lead Agency (DSLA), local authorities and local partners for their collaboration in implementation of IMAM programme activities.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the nutrition and health authorities at the district level as well as other nutrition and health related I/NGOs, partners and other stakeholders and arrange meetings/discussions as and when necessary.

Team management:

  • Guide the team members to implement programme activities in the districts.
  • Develop team movement plan and their individual work plan in consensus with the team members.
  • Discuss with the team members on a regular basis to smoothen implementation activities based on changes in plans.

Logistics, transport and supply chain management:

  • Forecast supply needs in OTC centre/ITC centre/TSFP sites in communication and coordination with team members and DHO/DPHO/HFs.
  • As per team movement plan, manage/support to vehicle movements and other supplies’ movements in the district.
  • Ensure regular supply of programme needs in all OTC centres/ITC centre/TSFP sites and timely information management.

Recording, documentation and reporting:

  • Support for proper recording, referral and reporting system using HMIS (Health Management Information System).
  • Support to maintain records of all programme related supplies in DHO/DPHO/HFs in Logistics Management Information System (LMIS).
  • Maintain records/documents related to programme implementation including supplies e.g. copies of HMIS, LMIS etc.
  • Provide weekly/monthly reports to DSLA after validation by the capital.
  • Share final reports with DHO/DPHO on a regular basis to keep them updating with programme progress.

Supportive supervision and monitoring:

  • Supportive supervision and monitoring of programme activities in different clusters
  • technically support team mates to conduct supportive supervision and monitoring activities
  • Prepare comprehensive report of the supportive supervision and monitoring activities

Administration and finance:

  • Supporting in managing financial transaction at the district level.
  • Authorize field movement of supervising staff.
  • Ensure that ACF financial and administrative procedures are respected.
