  • Candidates with experience in office administration, basic finance, and organising travel and workshops will be preferred.

  • Experience with Miscrosoft Office tools (Word, Excel and Power point). Additional experience with database or websites will be helpful.
  • Comfortable in multi-cultural settings and prepared to travel and organise workshops in other countries in South Asia.

Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Director, additional supervision of the Environmental Economist and in cooperation with the other staff of SANDEE, the Programme Associate will be responsible for the following:

  • Facilitating the efficient operation of the SANDEE programme through general administrative support to all programme staff and day to day management of office activities, information and networking. Identifying all Secretariat related deadlines and ensuring that these deadlines are met.
  • Ensuring the efficient running of the research grants programmes. Administering research grants cycles, including advertising of guidelines, communications and follow-up and overseeing the cycle from grant inception to closure.
  • Assisting the Programme Director/Economist in regular communication with researchers and advisors related to SANDEE grants.
  • Organising regular Research and Training workshops from planning to conducting the workshop and follow-up.
  • Supporting the Programme Director on special projects, liaison with ICIMOD and the Finance Department, strategic planning and managing donor and management committee relations.
  • Overseeing Working Paper publications by liaising between the Secretariat staff, English editor, researchers, advisors and peer reviewers.
  • Ensuring immediate follow-up of any financial transaction with the resource people, research associates and concerned vendors.
