Job Description

Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the implementation, management, supervision and evaluation of all the organization’s programs in accordance with the standards set out by Clean up Nepal board. As a member of the management team, the Program Coordinator participates in strategic planning and budgeting initiatives in addition to problem solving. She/he works within the guidelines, policies and mission of the organization and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned.

Human Resource Management

Direct, plan and coordinate the work of the program staff including supervision and evaluation, training and team building
Guide, support and lead staff to ensure quality performance and desired outcomes
Ensure adequate and qualified staff, interns or volunteers to carry out the program activities
In consultation with the executive director, responsible for the selection, hiring, coaching, and discipline of the program employees

Program and Projects Management

Responsible for the implementation, management, supervision and evaluation of all activities of the program
Responsible for the supervision and management of the data management
Responsible for accurate accounts and book keeping
Compile, maintain and report on the monthly, quarterly and annual program statistics to executive director
Implement, manage, supervise and evaluate all activities related to the leader programs
Develop, maintain and strengthen relationship with granters, supporters and other organizations to strengthen Clean up Nepal programs, fundraising and branding
Head, oversee and edit report, proposal and all publication of Clean up Nepal

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Graduate (Masters)

Required Experience:More than or equal to 1 year

Strategic thinker with experience pushing forward organizational mission and vision while considering and overcoming challenges
Able to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Degree in Masters Social Work/Environmental Science/Engineering/Public Health or equivalent
Strong problem solving and group work leadership skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Sound computer skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours
Access to a vehicle
Bilingual proficiency in written and spoken Nepali and English
An interest or background in the environment, especially waste management, desirable but not necessary

The Assistant Programme Officer will be responsible for managing Clean up Nepal’s action-research project – Mapping Solid Waste Management Systems of Kathmandu. Clean up Nepal with the support of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) and Private waste management companies in Kathmandu is going to implement its open-data mapping initiative which involves the use and promotion of the open-data technology platform - Nepal Waste Map (a web-based data dashboard and mobile application). The project is going to be implemented in 3 wards of KMC - Ward 3 (Maharajgunj), Ward 5 (Hadigaun), and Ward 32 (Koteshwor). The key responsibilities will include facilitating and coordinating training, mapping, and data collection activities. You will also facilitate the promotion and use of Nepal Waste Map (an open-data website and mobile application) among the government, private and public sector.
