Organization Overview:

Helpcode Nepal is a non-profit organization committed to improving education, health and child protection across Nepal. We work in rural areas of Chitwan, Makawanpur, and Kathmandu, focusing particularly on government schools, and aim to improve access to quality education, health services, and community development in a sustainable manner.

Job Summary:

The Communication and Program Officer will play a key role in supporting the effective implementation, monitoring, documentation, and communication of Helpcode Nepal’s programs. The position requires a balance of program coordination, stakeholder communication, and oversight of office communication and basic IT systems. The Officer will work closely with program teams, management, partners, and communities, including regular field engagement, to ensure high-quality project delivery and effective organizational communication.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting of projects.
Prepare project reports, proposals, concept notes, and official correspondence for internal and donor purposes.
Maintain project data, documentation, and digital communication records to support effective management and reporting.
Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders, partners, communities, and internal teams for smooth project execution.
Support monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities, including field data collection, compilation, and basic analysis.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and donor requirements.
Support organization and facilitation of meetings, training, workshops, and community events, including preparation of presentations and materials.
Support day-to-day office communication and basic IT systems (emails, computers, printers, telephones, MS Office 365/Outlook) and coordinate technical support when required.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Agriculture, or related field. Candidates with an Overseer (Construction) qualification are also welcome
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in project management administration, ideally in NGOs or development organizations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali, with the ability to prepare professional reports and correspondence.
Proficiency in MS Office applications; familiarity with MS Office 365/Outlook and basic office IT systems is considered an advantage.
Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as needed, typically up to half of the working time.
Strong coordination, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and meet deadlines with attention to quality and detail.
High standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
