Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of materials, equipment, and services for interior fit-out and civil construction projects. The ideal candidate ensures the timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining strong vendor relationships and strict cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Planning & Strategy:

Develop procurement strategies aligned with project schedules and budgets
Prepare procurement plans based on BOQ, drawings, and timelines
Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and Design Teams

2. Material & Equipment Procurement:

Procure interior materials (wood, boards, laminates, hardware, glass, lighting, sanitaryware, finishes)
Procure civil materials (cement, steel, aggregates, blocks, electrical and plumbing items)
Ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites
Coordinate logistics and transportation

3. Cost Control & Budget Management:

Monitor procurement costs against approved budgets and BOQs
Prepare comparative statements and procurement recommendations
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
Control material wastage and over-ordering

4. Documentation & Compliance:

Prepare Purchase Requests (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and agreements
Maintain procurement records, vendor contracts, invoices, and delivery challans
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and audit requirements

5. Site Coordination:

Coordinate with site teams for material demand and urgent requirements
Resolve material-related quality or delivery issues
Conduct site visits when required

6. Inventory & Store Management:

Monitor inventory levels at the site and central stores
Implement material tracking systems
Avoid over-stocking and shortages

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant field
Additional procurement certifications are a plus

Experience:

Minimum 3–5 years of procurement experience in interior and civil construction projects
Experience handling large-value procurement and multiple vendors

Key Skills:

Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Proficient in English (written and spoken)
In-depth knowledge of construction materials
Cost analysis and budgeting expertise
Excellent communication and coordination abilities
Proficient in MS Excel

Performance Indicators:

Timely procurement in line with project schedules
Cost savings achieved through effective sourcing
Vendor performance and quality compliance
Accuracy and completeness of procurement documentation
