Roles and responsibilities of this job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer with experience in construction and mechanical-related procurement. The ideal candidate will manage purchasing activities, maintain strong vendor and bank relationships, and ensure timely availability of materials and services required for project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end procurement processes for construction and mechanical projects.
Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) in line with company requirements.
Handle Letter of Credit (LC) documentation and coordinate with banks.
Maintain strong banking relationships and ensure compliance with financial documentation.
Prepare, verify, and manage bank-related documents for procurement transactions.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors.
Develop and maintain transporter relationships for efficient logistics and delivery.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with project teams for material planning.
Ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.
Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Maintain proper documentation and records of procurement activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in procurement within construction or mechanical industry.
Strong knowledge of: Purchase Orders (PO), Letter of Credit (LC) processes, Bank documentation and coordination.
Experience in vendor management and negotiation.
Familiarity with logistics and transporter coordination.
Good understanding of local market suppliers and materials.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
