Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Security / Systems Engineer to join our growing IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining our network infrastructure and security systems to ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and protection against cyber threats. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to safeguard company assets, data, and communications while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Engineering:

Design, deploy, and manage enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless network infrastructure.
Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and reliability issues.
Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, diagrams, and topology maps.
Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning initiatives.
Implement and maintain enterprise security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, DLP, and SIEM platforms.

Systems Administration:

Manage and maintain server infrastructure including physical, virtual (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Administer and maintain on-premises and cloud-based servers (Windows Server, Linux).
Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and identity and access management (IAM) systems.
Perform routine patch management, software updates and system health checks.
Manage backup solutions and assist in disaster recovery planning and testing.
Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior IT staff.
Prepare and present technical reports, risk assessments, and recommendations to leadership.
Document procedures, configurations, and known issues to build a reliable internal knowledge base.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Other Specification

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Certifications (Required or Preferred)

Required: CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent.
Preferred: Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE 4+, Microsoft AZ-104, or equivalent industry certification.

Experience:

Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, systems administration, or a combined security-focused role.
Hands-on experience managing enterprise networking equipment and server environments.

Technical Skills:

Networking Protocols & Technologies:

TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPN (IPsec/SSL), SD-WAN, QoS
Palo Alto / Fortinet firewalls, SolarWinds, Nessus, Zabbix, PRTG
FortiNAC, Cisco ISE, ForeScout NAC
Microsoft NPS, Radius
Cisco Meraki skills

Cloud Platforms:

Microsoft Azure (preferred strong experience)

Server Platforms:

Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL)

Virtualization:

VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or equivalent

Directory Services:

Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, RADIUS

Monitoring tools:

SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or similar

Scripting & Automation:

PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Ansible

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills (technical & non-technical)
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
High integrity and ability to handle sensitive data
Team collaboration and mentoring ability
