Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Contract Marketing Surveyor for an intensive 1-Month Assignment within the Kathmandu Valley. This role involves immediate, direct fieldwork to gather primary market data exclusively from small retail stores (kiranā pasal and similar small outlets) across Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts. The insights collected will directly inform our rapid market assessment strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Data Collection & Execution (90%)

Focused Surveying: Systematically visit a small retail stores (kiranā pasal, local convenience stores, etc.) exclusively within the Kathmandu Valley.
Execute Questionnaires: Accurately administer structured surveys/questionnaires to store owners or managers regarding:
- Product stocking, pricing, and promotional activities.
- Customer footfall and purchasing behavior patterns.
- Competitor presence and brand visibility.
Data Quality & Integrity: Strictly adhere to survey protocols to ensure the validity and reliability of all collected data.
Visual Documentation: Capture clear photographic evidence of in-store displays, shelf presence, and branding elements (with permission).
Route Management: Efficiently plan daily travel routes using a personal two-wheeler to maximize the number of completed surveys across the three districts.

Reporting & Data Processing (10%)

Digital Data Submission: Input collected survey data accurately and promptly into the designated digital platform/software at the end of each working day.
Computer Operation: Be proficient in basic computer operations (including using spreadsheets like MS Excel or Google Sheets and email) to manage, clean, and submit weekly data summaries.
Progress Reporting: Provide regular verbal and written updates on fieldwork progress and market observations to the supervisor.

Experience: No prior experience is required; the training will be provided.
Technical Ability: Basic computer literacy for data entry, reporting, and mobile app usage.
Language Proficiency: Strong command of Nepali (spoken and written).
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with store owners, managers, and diverse stakeholders.
Contract Availability: Able to work full-time or part-time for a 1-month contract period.

Note: Must have a valid driving license and a personal two-wheeler for daily field visits.
