Role Overview

We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to lead and execute our marketing efforts, ensuring that Tergar Schools' mission and impact reach the right audiences. This role involves social media management, content creation, digital asset management, and brand storytelling. If you are a creative and strategic communicator with strong design, photography, and digital marketing skills, we encourage you to apply.

Location: Sitapaila -5, Nagarjun Municipality, Kathmandu, Nepal (remote and flexible working environment possible)

Key Responsibilities

Marketing and Communications Strategy

Work in collaboration with the Director of Operations and the Director of Fundraising to develop an annual marketing and communications strategy
Develop clear goals and objectives for marketing channels
Track and analyze campaigns for quarterly feedback and improvement

Email Newsletters

Create the copy and images for monthly email newsletters
Track engagement and other relevant analytics to improve overall strategy
Align newsletters with broader organizational goals

Social Media & Digital Marketing

Develop and implement a social media strategy to grow engagement on Facebook and Instagram
Help manage three tiers of social media posting: Kathmandu Valley, Regional, and Global
Plan, create, and schedule compelling content that aligns with Tergar Schools' mission
Monitor and analyze social media performance, adjusting strategies for impact

Content Creation & Digital Asset Management

Organize and maintain a library of photos and videos for easy access
Edit and prepare visual and video content for marketing and storytelling
Capture high-quality photography and videography as needed for campaigns and events

Print & Digital Collateral

Design posters, postcards, email templates, and presentations
Ensure brand consistency across all materials and communications
Work with printers and vendors to produce high-quality print materials

Website

Maintain and update the Tergar Schools website with fresh content
Support storytelling efforts to communicate Tergar Schools' mission and impact

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Other Specification

Experience: 3+ years in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field
Employment Type: Part-time (25 hours / week) with possibility of full-time work for the right candidate
Photography & Videography: Strong visual storytelling skills, with experience capturing and editing media
Digital Marketing: Hands-on experience managing social media, email marketing, and website updates
Language: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali
Passion: Interest in education, community-building, and Buddhist values is a plus

Technical Skills: Proficiency in the following technologies is desired:

Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), Microsoft Suite, Mailchimp, Wordpress, Facebook, Instagram

Salary & Benefits

Competitive salary: NPR 25,000 - 50,000 per month (for 25 hours / week), depending on experience and qualifications

About Tergar Schools

Under the direction of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, the Tergar School Kathmandu project is the first of its kind, weaving together traditional Tibetan Buddhist principles and practices with contemporary approaches to learning. The project is supported by an international advisory board with a wealth of experience. The Tergar School Kathmandu, located in Sitapaila, Nagarjuna Rural Municipality is a non-profit boarding school, home to 82 students between the ages of 5 - 13, as well as 7 teachers, and 3 administrators. We are a trilingual school inclusive of English, Tibetan, and Nepali.
