  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills and fluency in Nepali and in English
  • Good analytical and research skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Self-starter with a high degree of initiative
  • An understanding of the socio-economic, political and ecological conditions of the country and the region is desirable.
  • Applicants with two-wheeler driving license is preferable


Job Description

Program Background:

Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Program, formerly known as Inspire2Care Program, is a community-based model of inclusive development implemented in direct partnership with the provincial government of Province No.1 and local governments. The goal of the program is to prevent avoidable disabilities and improve quality of life of children and adults with disabilities and their families through community-based rehabilitation. It works to strengthen community support systems for the achievement of these goals.

Key responsibilities:

Program Management and Implementation:

  • Lead planning and implementation of livelihood aspects of disability prevention and rehabilitation program
  • Develop policies, strategies and guidelines for effective implementation of livelihood component of the program
  • Develop annual and periodic plans and budget for livelihood programs
  • Provide technical support to the district team to implement livelihood programs
  • Conduct/facilitate technical training on livelihood for team and other stakeholders as necessary
  • Develop vocational skill development training modules as per beneficiary needs 
  • Provide support to persons with disabilities and their family members to connect with financial institutions for small scale loans
  • Assist in development of a recording and reporting system for Saving and Credit scheme run by Self-help group (SHG).

Coordination 

  • Co-ordinate with governmental and non-governmental agencies and stakeholders at the federal, provincial and local level
  • Coordinate with different likeminded organizations to promote livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities and their families

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Ensure effective implementation of livelihood programs
  • Conduct regular field and monitoring visits and provide necessary feedback and suggestions to the team and stakeholders
  • Document and disseminate the best practices, cases studies and innovative methodologies of livelihood programs.
  • Support the Monitoring and Evaluation team to conduct base-line and end-line evaluations of livelihood programs
