Based:                       Kathmandu (with field visit to the districts)
Duration:                    4 months  

Job purpose

Reporting to the Project Director, the iLearn Administrator will be responsible for providing support in the development of the online iLearn training on radio drama on sexual violence on post-conflict/transitional Nepal. The training will be targeted towards radio producers across Nepal. The iLearn Administrator work alongside the project officer, training officer, producers and mentors on developing the online training material. 

Sexual Violence is a sensitive issue and iLearn Administrator the will be responsible for ensuring the issues are treated sensitively and responsibly in the training, with due regard for the audience members who may have been affected on a personal level by the issues. 

Main Duties

  • Work together with the iLearn team based at the BBC Media Action office in the UK to ensure that organizational values and are reflected in the final product 
  • Identify potential service providers for the development of an online training platform and provide support in the selection process for an appropriate service provider. Once the selection process is complete, oversee the website development process of the online training platform by the service provider 
  • Coordinate with the project team (mentors, consultants, training and project officers) to ensure that that the online training content is in line with project objectives
  • Work together with the training officer to ensure that the online training content being developed is in line with local in-country requirements
  • Provide support in the delivery of the first iLearn training event for local radio drama producers ensuring that radio stations from various ethnic and geographical backgrounds are able to participate in the training 
  • Other project activities as necessary

Essential skills and experience

  • University degree in Media and Communications or related discipline and five years of progressive work experience in related field 
  • Ability to work on own initiative and organize time effectively within a range of often conflicting deadlines 
  • The ability to forge strong working relations quickly and gain the trust of project stakeholders, including partners
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent written and spoken Nepali/English
