Reports To: Accounting Manager

Role Overview:

The Lead Accountant is responsible for executing, reviewing, and overseeing core accounting functions while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, analytical thinking, and effective collaboration with clients, market representatives, and internal management in a fast-paced offshore environment.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Working in a diverse and collaborative environment, the Lead Accountant will perform duties including, but not limited to:

A. Accounting Operations

Perform core bookkeeping functions including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, AP/AR, and payment processing.
Prepare cash flow forecasts and assist in budgeting.
Manage inventory accounting and review account balances.
Process and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end accruals.
Evaluate and enhance accounting systems for efficiency and accuracy.

B. Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare and review financial statements.
Customize and generate MIS and management reports.
Analyze financial trends and recommend efficiencies or cost-saving measures.
Support financial and tax audit processes.

C. Systems & Process Improvement

Optimize accounting system usage and ERP tools (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, etc.).
Develop and maintain quality-control mechanisms to ensure high-quality output.

D. Coordination & Client Support

Work closely with clients and market teams to ensure timely and confidential service.
Coordinate effectively with management and internal team members.
Maintain updated activity records and submit bi-weekly time-entry reports on BizVue.

E. Leadership & Supervision

Lead, mentor, and guide accounting staff.
Conduct training on accounting processes, ERP tools, and other relevant areas.
Maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and professionalism.

F. Other Duties

Perform other duties assigned and relevant to the position.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Graduate (Masters)

Required Experience:More than 6 years

Other Specification

Education:

Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Preferred).
Professional certifications are required.
Advanced training in accounting/finance is an added advantage.

Experience:

Minimum 6–8 years of progressive experience in accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and financial management (required).
Experience with offshore or US-based accounting is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

Expert knowledge of corporate accounting principles, standards, laws, and regulations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Positive attitude with willingness to learn and improve.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and leading accounting/ERP tools (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, etc.).

Period of Performance: Full-time, (Renewable based on performance and organizational needs)

NOTE: This role is based in Nepal, which means the candidate does not need to travel; it is not an international placement.
