Job Description

Roles and responsibilities of this job

Areas of Responsibility:

Resolve issues in software/hardware, installation of OS, software and provide end user support across Head Office and all Facilities of QFX Cinemas.
Monitor network traffic, troubleshoot issues and escalate to senior team if required.
Research and recommend innovative, and automated approaches (whenever possible) for IT support tasks to leverage resources and provide economies of scale.
Perform daily support task monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, workstation resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
Perform daily backup operations.
Perform ongoing performance tuning of end user systems - hardware upgrades, service/maintenance and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
Prepare various reports on uptime, database usage and disk, CPU, memory usage regularly.
Document issues and associated resolutions to ongoing problems
Train and enforce system policies for end users.

Note: Should be available on Saturdays and Public Holidays. Should be willing to travel outside Kathmandu if required.

Professional Pre-requisites

Associate or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration or equivalent
Experience with IT support, Hardware maintenance/troubleshoot, Networking or any similar experience in a similar role
Knowledge of Linux, Windows, Mac OS

Preferences

Proven experience in a similar role for 1 or more years
Familiar with system administration roles, scripting tools and virtualization in Systems and Network
Experience with software/hardware repair, upgrade and maintenance (laptop/desktop)
Owns a two-wheeler and a valid license.
