Unit HOD, Human Resources & Training

Reporting To: Unit General Manager & Corporate HR

Supervises: Unit Human Resources, Training & Development & Loss Prevention Team

Main objective / Context

The main purpose of the job is to develop a congenial employer-employee relationship aimed at ensuring that employees contribute effectively to the organisation and facilitate employee development and growth. To allow employees to fully understand the key tasks and responsibilities within their job. Make work flow more even, more predictable and more measurable. To assist the management in all activities relating to recruitment, selection, training, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and maintenance of discipline. Assist and advise the management in the overall control of the payroll as budgeted by top management and the maintenance of personnel records.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Recruitment & Selection
  • Upkeep of Personnel Records and ensure compliance on the following
  • Reporting –Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reports to CHQ
  • Employee Benefits Formulation & Implementation
  • Grievance Handling
  • Statutory Compliances
  • Attrition Analysis & Retention of Workforce
  • Conducting audits of payroll challans, benefits, and other HR programs, and recommending corrective actions
  • To design, co-ordinate and implement training activities for the staff, supervisors and management of the entire Hotel
  • To organise safety, fire prevention and control programmes for all employees
  • To organise programmes for employees on methods, procedures and systems in guest handling, selling, cost consciousness, across departments.
  • Build a strong pool of internal/external trainers to promote various programmes on behavioural and technical skills
  • Act as change catalyst in the cultural and organizational transformation
  • Monitor and conduct L&D reviews with each department, Unit(s) Management Committee and Corporate Training Cell to understand the training needs of the unit(s)
  • Partner in Corporate initiatives as required from time to time
  • Build a pool of internal/departmental trainers to promote various technical and job specific training

In addition to the above mentioned duties and job functions any other assignment given by the immediate superior or the management will have to be carried out.

Education/Experience

Education: Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Social Work, Labour Relations or Business.

Experience: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Human Resources Information Systems/ PMS system.
  • Has worked in same portfolio for approx. 1-2 Yrs in past.
  • Experience with creating a culture of engagement, collaboration and teamwork.
  • Capable of compiling and analysing all the data related to HR & Learning Services (Training).
