Term, Location & Duration:    

  • Fixed term initially for one year based in Cluster Office

Key Responsibilities

  • In coordination with emergency HR Manager Field HR Coordinator leads on HR planning, budgeting, deployment, capacity building and talent retention at cluster, district and sub-offices.
  • Provide a generalist HR service to managers on  HR issues
  • Handle and or refer on complex people management issues
  • Monitor the impact and effectiveness of HR management interventions at cluster and district offices
  • Implement HR systems, policy and practice in key HR areas such as recruitment, induction, training, performance management and staff wellness at cluster and district offices
  • Maintain HR information systems at cluster and district offices.
  • Recruit and organize staff induction, discipline and grievance issues  at cluster and districts
  • Make use of all available policy, practice, checklists and guidelines (HR minimum standards, emergencies HR toolkits) and ensure Save the Children good practice is in place
  • Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child safeguarding, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

Required Qualification and Competencies

  • Atleast bachelor's degree Management with at least 2 years of relevant experience in HR
  • Experience of working in remote field bases with limited infrastructure
  • Excellent skills in handling and advising on complex people management issues
  • Excellence of and well developed skills in recruitment and selection
  • Understanding staff care for humanitarian staff, in particular approaches to welfare, stress and debriefing
  • Good facilitation skills and ability to deliver induction briefing/training
  • Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English, with experience in working with multicultural team
