Health Programme Officer- 1 Position

Terms and Location: 1 year fixed term employment based in Banke Programme Unit.
Required Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health/ Nursing field.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant work experience in maternal, new born and child health with training on integrated management of New born & Childhood Illness
  • Background with Certificate in Community Medical Assistant, Auxiliary Nurse Midwives, General Medicine and Medical Science, Staff nursing will have an added advantage.
  • Should have experience in coordination, liaison, networking, managing teams, finance and other critical management domains.
  • Competencies both in spoken and written English and Nepali languages with computer skill

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare plan  for Integrated Management of New born & Childhood Illness & Childhood Disability Services in coordination and/or partnership with District Health Office(DPHO)/ NGOs
  • Implement, conduct and manage training of these programmes/project in the defined areas and coordinate with DHO &DDC
  • Work in close collaboration with the government health officials throughout the programmes/project period to ensure integration of these programmes/projects within government health system.
  • Monitor budget spending of the programmes/projects and support the monitor and evaluation Coordinator to conduct baseline survey, regular progress monitoring and final evaluation.
  • Assist in need identification, strategy development and activity planning for the programmes/projects.
  • Participate in district level forum for eg.Reproductive Health Coordination Committee (RHCC), nutrition and food security steering committee) and share the project brief among stakeholder.
  • Assess the capacity of local level health service providers, FCHVs and mothers group and prepare capacity development plan to enhance their skills and knowledge
