Scope of the position: Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Health Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of health related activities of Malteser Internationalat central and district level.
Main Responsibilities / Duties:
- Involve in the implementation of health and hygiene assessments and surveys
- Analyse health service gaps in program target areas and develop health program including mental health care component and hygiene promotion interventions with partner agencies
- Lead in operational planning, monitoring and evaluation and review processes of Health and Hygiene promotion activities supported by MI
- Liaise and facilitate the implementation of health/hygiene promotion activities implemented and planned by partner organizations
- Collect and analyze data related to project activities and assure timely report on progress and challenges
- Liaise, develop and maintain good relationships among partners and networks, other professionals and government officers related to health and hygiene
- Engage in meetings, workshops and other forms of collaborations related to the project
- Coordinate with the Ministry of Health at central level and District Health Offices or other concerned district government agencies at central and district levelas well as other international, UN agencies and local agencies on regular basis
- Coordinate with local communities, CBOs and stakeholders where MI supports activities
- Support activities of capacity building measures for staff, target communities, local partners and organizations related to program activities, results, objectives and strategies
Skills and qualification:
- Master degree in Public Health
- Minimum 5 year experience in designing, implementing and coordinating health/hygiene promotion projects
- At least 3 years of working experience with UN, INGO/ NGO
- Experience in designing M&E systems, tools, quality data collection and analysis
- Capacity and keen interest to undertake capacity-building activities for partner agencies and communities
- Ability to facilitate trainings and workshops for target groups and partner agencies
- Excellent written and spoken English skills (report writing, presentation and interpersonal communication)
- Independent and initiative working style
- Problem solving/initiative - must be able to find appropriate solutions to identified problems and initiate action to respond to needs
- Strong capability in computer & IT applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet & Email etc.)
- Willing to work in humanitarian programs and to travel to remote and difficult areas
