Head of Accounts

The Head of Accounts will lead Chynabazar’s finance and accounting division, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management. This role is critical in integrating financial oversight with warehouse operations, inventory control, and e-commerce transactions, providing actionable insights to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Functional Areas

Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise overall account teams and financial operations.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and mentor staff for skill development.
• Build a collaborative finance team aligned with operational goals.
• Develop and execute comprehensive finance and accounting policies, SOP and SLA and track performance against targets.

Financial Strategy & Planning

• Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Conduct variance analysis against sales, warehouse costs, and logistics expenses.
• Align financial planning with seasonal demand and inventory cycles.

Accounting Operations Oversight

• Ensure accuracy in ledgers, journals, and financial records.
• Monitor purchase orders, vendor payments, and warehouse expense allocations.
• Oversee reconciliation of e-commerce transactions (payment gateways, COD).

Inventory & Cost Control

• Track stock valuation, shrinkage, and warehouse operating costs.
• Implement cost-saving measures in procurement and logistics.
• Collaborate with warehouse managers to ensure financial accuracy of stock movements.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure VAT, TDS, and statutory filings are timely and accurate.
• Oversee compliance with e-commerce tax regulations and import/export laws.
• Implement fraud-prevention and internal control measures.

Audit & External Coordination

• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure transparent reporting and compliance with financial standards.

Reporting & Advisory

• Deliver monthly and quarterly financial reports to management.
• Provide insights on gross margins, fulfillment costs, and profitability by product category.
• Advise management on financial risks and opportunities.

Process Improvement & Digitalisation

• Introduce ERP/inventory integration for real-time financial tracking.
• Automate reconciliation and reporting processes.
• Streamline workflows between finance, warehouse, and operations teams.
