Job Description

Contract : Timebound Contract, six months to one year

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong analytical understanding of relevant global and national GESI issues, policies and best practices
  • Actively participate in and contribute to national GESI working groups, platforms and forums
  • Produce regular GESI briefings for WV key leadership and operational staff
  • Build links with relevant government, civil society and private sector groups and personnel to support WV advocacy effort with respect to GESI
  • Work with relevant sector and departmental leads to develop GESI sensitive systems, processes, approaches and procedures
  • Work with key Programs, Operations and P&C staff to ensure GESI is understood and mainstreamed across all programs.
  • Provide technical GESI expertise to Sector leads and other relevant operations and programs staff and inspire these teams to develop innovative and high quality GESI programs
  • Work with GAM, DME and Accountability teams to ensure design, monitoring and evaluation cycle are applied to GESI work and take lead in producing global quarterly and annual GESI reports. Also ensure that GESI principles are well-integrated into DME and Accountability (MEAL) systems, including program partnership development processes
  • Produce regular GESI reports and success stories and disseminate internally and externally in relevant platforms
  • Carry out evaluation visits to programs, and provide support in revising program outcomes and indicators
  • Supply technical assistance and input to partnership development and fundraising
  • Identify GESI organizational gaps and learning needs and conduct capacity building trainings and events for WV NER staff
  • Other duties as assigned by Programmes Manager

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in relevant fields of study such as International Development, Political Science/International Relations, Economics, Sociology, or other related field.
  • Two years’ experience in emergency response programming and management, with a focus on gender and protection
  • Previous experience in large scale humanitarian emergencies preferred
  • Self -starter who can work independently under pressure.
  • Working Knowledge in English.
  • Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts and psychologically stressful environments, including work in physical hardship and high security risk situations.
  • Understands work from a process point of view and uses measurement and accountability systems effectively.
  • Excellent time-management and prioritization.
  • Demonstrates team spirit, openness and transparency
