The General Manager will take ownership of overall of the business, recruitment of key members of staff, improvements to commercial aspects of the projects including administration of the head contract and subcontract. You will develop procurement strategies and processes, as well as outlining cost controls, budgets and manage project cash flow.
As this is a General Manager role you will have substantial experience within a main contractor environment having worked in a similar project-based contract and financial management position on projects from pre-construction through to project delivery and commercial close-out and administration functions.

The Person
In this role you will:

• Advise on subcontract packages, scopes & lettings, procurement schedules and assist with head contract, progress claims, delay claims & external variations
• Be proficient in all contractual matters and have the ability to communicate this knowledge in a practical and meaningful way to the project team
• Provide outstanding client service and utilise your expert communication and negotiation skills to foster the client relationship and business development
• Manage project expenditure
• Ensure safety and quality compliance on all projects
• Train, mentor and coach staff
• Possess excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail
