Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Financial and Accounting Analyst to join the COE team. This individual will play a key role in maintaining financial records, assisting with operational financial processes, and supporting accurate and timely reporting. The role offers hands-on experience in financial operations, with the potential to grow into a Financial Officer role over time. Initially reporting to the consulting team at Steward Strategies (SS), the analyst will transition to reporting directly to COE’s CEO once fully competent.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and update financial records in alignment with established processes.
Perform weekly financial reporting and assist with month-end closings.
Record and reconcile accounts receivable transactions, especially for domestic (Nepal-based) clients.
Monitor accounts payable, especially payments made to China-based suppliers, and ensure timely and accurate reporting of any changes.
Reconcile bank transactions and ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial data entry.
Conduct cost tracking, basic budgeting, and variance analysis.
Coordinate with internal departments (sourcing, operations, logistics) to identify and classify financial transactions.
Generate structured monthly financial reports in line with internal standards.
Support the consulting team (SS) in maintaining consistency and clarity in financial documentation.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to evolve into a Financial Office role and gain comprehensive experience in the financial backbone of a cross-border sourcing company.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Professional Certification

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Semi-qualified ACCA or actively pursuing a similar professional finance qualification.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
1–2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
Understanding of basic accounting frameworks and reconciliation practices (software-specific training will be provided).

Soft Skills & Attributes

Strong communication skills in both Nepali and English.
Ability to interact with team members across departments and follow structured workflows.
Self-motivated with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
Willingness to learn and grow into higher-level finance responsibilities.

Work Setup & Supervision

Full-time, in-office position based at COE’s office in Chundevi Marg, Maharajgunj.
Occasional visits may be required to the SS office in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu for check-ins and coordination.
Initial supervision by Steward Strategies to ensure quality and standards.
Long-term reporting line to COE’s CEO once onboarding and performance maturity are achieved.
