Under the direct supervision of Finance Director, the incumbent is responsible to support on monthly financial analysis to support management providing decision making information and tools. The incumbent is expected to support all type admin, HR, Finance and/or other budget/costs analysis and recommendations in the context of HFH Nepal National Office financial budget to actual performance, cost value analysis, admin vs program cost tracking, National Office support costs recovery status and other admin/HR, finance, support costs proportion and analytical recommendation.

Job Description:

  • Support Finance Manager to close and finalize Monthly Financial Reports
  • Review monthly financial reports and provide narratives on different elements of the reports. Provide commentary on Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss,and Cash Management elements
  • Provide commentary on budget to actual variance on each project, department and/or domains on monthly basis
  • Review support costs and overhead costs recovery status along with the status of direct project costs on all restricted projects
  • Analysis on restricted vs unrestricted budget/costs status on monthly and quarterly basis
  • Provide financial analysis to project manager and department heads as and when required
  • Support Finance Director (or Finance Manager) on overall narrative comment to complete quarterly financial reports
  • Prepare required financial reports for different review, monitoring and spot checks when required by SWC, Government entity or HFHI delegates
  • Analyze expenditure trends of implementing partner organizations. Specially, direct implementation costs vs support and overhead costs and budget vs actual costs status
  • Review and update partners reporting on houses completion and costs incurred for the same. Update and forecast this cost in the context of 100,000 housing campaign
  • Support Finance Director(or Sr. Finance Manager) on periodic budget revision in coordination with other project managers and/or department heads
  • Keep update of restricted project related income and expenditure on monthly basis
  • Assist Finance Director initiating and working with Project Manager (or Budget Holders) on budget revision of unrestricted fund to match with the project variation
  • Review and analyze Habitat Resource Center office expenditure trend along with budget to actual variance

Job Specification: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent in a relevant field
  • At least two years’ experience in financial role in Development sector. 
  • Working on financial analysis in NGO/INGOs or fairly large National NGOs  will be given priority. 
  • Strong database analysis and interpretation skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically on short notice
  • Must be fluent in both English and Nepali
