Job Description

Scope Of Work

The Finance Officer will play a pivotal role in managing financial activities, reporting, and compliance for the organization. The role involves diverse responsibilities spanning financial reporting, invoicing, payroll, payment management, reconciliation, budgeting, and more. The Finance Officer will ensure accurate and transparent financial processes, support audits, and contribute to the organization's financial well-being. Compile pertinent information and synthesize clear takeaways using qualitative and quantitative methods to apprise the Project Manager and VRock management in shaping the organization’s management and development advisory services.

  • Handle bookkeeping tasks such as recording transactions and reconciling accounts, and daily entries for accuracy and compliance while also engaging in accounting activities like analyzing financial data and preparing statements to provide insights into the organization's financial status.
  • Engage in developing VRock's annual budget and procurement plan. They'll create and update expense planning sheets and facilitate purchase acquisitions. Prepare budget for events organised by VRock.
  • Be responsible for the compliance of monthly VAT and TDS returns and drive VAT and TDS reconciliations. Lead financial closure, preparing comprehensive statements including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, and Changes in Equity. Collaborate with auditors, obtain necessary certificates like Tax Clearance, Tax Residency, and manage bonus calculations and tax returns. 
  • Ensure bank reconciliations aligning bank statement with the financial records. Petty cash management and cash reconciliation will be consistently maintained to promptly address discrepancies.
  • Efficient payment execution for vendors, consultants, and partners will be managed by the Finance Officer. They'll communicate payment details and oversee check preparation for non-bank transfers. Additionally, they'll handle insurance and CIT transactions, ensuring accurate and compliant financial operations.
  • Oversee payroll, calculating taxes and preparing individual tax sheets. They'll gather staff information for CIT and insurance and ensure timely salary payments. Handling adjustments related to travel, insurance, and salary revisions is part of their responsibility. They'll assist with CIT matters, manage payroll account activation, and provide staff benefit support.
  • Prepare and manage invoices. Gather monthly timesheets, calculate invoice amounts, and draft cover letters. 
  • Prepare financial reports, budget and details for clients of VRock. Engage in preparing budgets and revisions for VRock’s projects.
  • Contribute to various tasks like coordinating staff details, social media management, website support, financial training, event organization, office environment enhancement, and office supplies procurement.
  • Provide operational support for travel and field-based activities and perform other tasks as assigned by the project manager and VRock management.
  • Assist in any other financial matters relating to VRock
