Purpose: This position reports to Country Finance Manager. The position holder will be responsible for the effective management of partnership with NGO, CBO, and Government Organizations for effective implementation of programmes through all stages from partnership assessment, capacity building for strengthening internal control system; reviewing partnership budgets; reviewing the financial management etc.

Term and Location: 3 years fixed term employment based in Country Office, Lalitpur.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Commerce/ Business management or equivalent professional degree from recognized institute. At least five (5) years’ of relevant work experience in financial management out of which three (3) years’ should be in similar job level. Proven experience in dealing with NGO/CBO/Government for partnership related issues. In depth knowledge of financial system, management & reporting, taxation laws & statutes of the country. Excellent Computers skills, in particular excel and word, knowledge on SAP preferred. Strong analytical & reasoning skill, team working skills, interpersonal skill and good level of written and oral communication skills especially in English & Nepali.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in the review of potential partner for programme/project in coordination with Program Units.
  • Develop an appropriate Partnership Agreement (MOA) between Plan and partners and facilitate a legal review as necessary.
  • Budgetary control for partners fund management for Country Office and liaise for Program Unit and Area Office. 
  • Review financial reports and liquidations; endorse payment requests when financial reports/liquidations are cleared and financial reports are aligned with applicable narrative reports from program.
  • Lead for the capacity building of the partners finance team and facilitate trainings.
  • Provide monthly/quarterly financial summary report to Country Finance Manager. 
  • Ensure compliance of operations manual and partnership standards.
