Since 2017, Qatar Charity Nepal has operated in affiliation with the Social Welfare Council (SWC), implementing impactful projects across various sectors.

Position Overview

The Finance Manager will be stationed at the Country Office in Kathmandu and will serve as the lead for all financial operations in Nepal. This role demands strategic oversight, operational excellence, and compliance leadership. The Finance Manager will report directly to the Finance Head at Qatar Charity’s headquarters in Doha and will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial integrity and sustainability of country program.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Oversight

  • Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Enforce adherence to Qatar Charity’s financial policies, donor requirements, and international accounting standards.
  • Maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure transparency.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Compile donor-specific financial reports and cash flow projections.
  • Entering all the finance data on ERP dynamics, as per organizational procedure.

Audit & Risk Management

  • Coordinate and keep advance preparations for internal and external audits.
  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Budget Development & Monitoring

  • Design and manage project budgets in collaboration with program team.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure cost-effectiveness across all activities.
  • Entering and maintaining all the budgetary information of ERP Dynamic-365

Team Leadership & Capacity Building

  • Supervise and mentor finance staff.
  • Organize training sessions to enhance team competencies and ensure succession planning.

Coordination with Headquarters

  • Liaise with the Finance Head in Doha for strategic planning, financial submissions, and policy updates.
  • Ensure alignment of country office financial practices with global standards.

Education & qualification:

  • The applicant must have a university degree in accounting.
  • Preference will be given to those with professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA.
  • Previous experience working with international non-governmental organizations (INGOs).
  • Practical experience with ERP systems, and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (MCD365) is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of practical experience in the accounting department is preferred.
  • The applicant must be fluent in Arabic.
  • Comply with the laws of the country.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
