Job Title: Finance Manager
Fixed Term Contract from May 1, 2021 - July 2022 (Probable Extension)
Reports to: Operation Director

About Teach For Nepal: 

Teach For Nepal currently has 134 outstanding university graduates as Fellows teaching in public and government schools in seven districts. By our eight year of engagement in the community we have impacted almost 30,000 plus children.

Job Purpose: 

The Finance Manager leads the financial procedures and system so that the office runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Accounting Management 

  • Prepare the salary of staff and deposit it in the bank 
  • Prepare the stipend of Fellows and deposit it in the bank 
  • Monitor day to day financial operations and update the financial documents 
  • Banking update and reconcile 
  • Oversee inventory of office supplies and the purchasing of new material with attention to budgetary constraints 
  • Oversee to set budgets, monitor spending, and processing payroll and other expenses 

Financial Management 

  • Prepare budget of the organization 
  • Lead the cash flow management and give insights in decision making process
  • Developing strategy that work to minimize financial risk 
  • Prepare financial reports related to budget, payroll, account payables, account receivables and expense etc 
  • Planning, developing, reviewing, improving and ensuring all financial systems, policies and procedures are in place to ensure organisational effectiveness 
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual report 
Governance and Transparency 

  • Give insights while preparing different documents and proposals (Financial Act Compliance/Labour Act Compliance) 
  • Renewal with Government Authority: Tax Work:TDS Deposit,E-TDS,(prepare TDS Sheet and Upload ), Tax exemption certificate 
  • Support in the auditing process 
  • Support in developing and enforcing budgets, delegating tasks and tracking progress on projects, planning and organizing a calendar of all TFN events
  • Ensure the financial and legal soundness of the organization

Competencies 

  • Demonstrates deep commitment and understanding of TFN’s mission and Theory of Change, 
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and work in a team 
  • Results-oriented, ability to work with data, strategic and critical thinker, ability to prioritize and give equal effort and attention to multiple projects 
  • Written, oral and presentational skills, and communicating effectively with non-finance people 
  • Understanding the sources of risk, and evaluating risks and methods for their control and mitigation 
  • Broad understanding of the technical issues and ability to keep up to date with new accounting rules and regulations 
  • Ability to keep up to date with new concepts, techniques, tools and technologies 

Requirements 

  • Masters degree in Finance, related field like Management, Economics or Business (Preferable CA or ACCA) 
  • Minimum 5 years of full-time, professional work experience (related field), preferably in a non-profit setting. 
  • Good prior experience in using MS office (especially MS Excel). 
  • Familiar with Google drive, Google Docs, and Google sheets. 
  • Ability to create work time-line and complete tasks within deadlines.
