Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Junior Officer to join our Finance & Accounts team. The role is responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and assisting in smooth financial management across all business verticals.

Department: Finance & Accounts

Reports To: Finance Manager / HOD

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Records

Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts
Record all financial transactions promptly in the accounting system
Prepare and review payment vouchers, journal entries, and supporting documents
Assist in monthly and annual financial closing processes

2. Documentation

Maintain proper invoices and supporting documents as per legal requirements
Ensure all vouchers are updated with supporting bills within the same month
Follow up with internal teams and vendors for pending documents
Maintain systematic filing of financial records and contracts

3. Taxation & Compliance

Prepare and file VAT returns through the IRD e-filing system
Handle TDS/WHT deductions, deposits, and filings as per Nepal regulations
Maintain VAT and TDS trackers and reconcile with IRD records
Support statutory registrations and renewals (DOIB, OCR, etc.)
Stay updated with changes in tax laws and ensure compliance

4. Banking & Payments

Manage documentation for banking transactions
Handle TT and LC documentation and coordinate with banks
Verify invoices and supporting documents before payment processing

5. Reconciliations

Perform monthly bank and digital wallet reconciliations (eSewa, Khalti)
Maintain and reconcile petty cash records
Reconcile revenue between internal systems and accounting records

6. Accounts Receivable & Payable

Monitor outstanding receivables and ensure timely collections
Manage vendor payments and account reconciliations
Prepare ageing reports and escalate discrepancies

7. Fixed Assets & Stock

Maintain Fixed Assets Register (FAR) and verify records
Coordinate with operations for stock verification and reporting

8. Additional Responsibilities

Support internal and external audits
Assist in implementing financial policies, SOPs, and ERP systems
Visit banks or relevant offices when required
Perform other tasks assigned by the Finance Manager or HOD

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 2 years

Other Specification

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree running in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in accounting/finance
Tax Knowledge: Familiarity with VAT, TDS, and IRD e-filing system
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Tally and MS Excel; ERP knowledge is an advantage
Language: Strong command of Nepali and English (written and verbal)
