Division : Administration and Finance

Roles and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Finance Officer, and in close collaboration with other staff in the division, the Finance Associate will be responsible for the smooth processing of donor financial reporting, including the following tasks:

  • Liaise with ICIMOD's country offices to monitor day-to-day financial activities
  • Keep record of and file TDS for all payments made to staff, vendors, and suppliers
  • Oversee the settlement of hotel bills and other expenses from different events and workshops organized by ICIMOD inside and outside of Nepal
  • Ensure timely payments to all vendors and staff and coordinate with ICIMOD's bank and transit teller
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and payable on a monthly basis
  • Process petty bills (supply and services, utilities, repair, and maintenance)
  • Provide support to the Internal Auditor of the Centre’s financial activities
  • Coordinate with ICIMOD's implementing partners to ensure the receipt of their regular financial reports along with the necessary supporting documents in close coordination with Programme Officers and Programme Associates
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Senior Finance Officer

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s in Business Administration, Accounting, or Commerce
  • At least three years of experience in a related field and relevant working experience in a related organization
  • Demonstrated computing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Good knowledge of computer-based accounting systems; knowledge of Navision or another ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system is highly preferred

  • Flexibility and innovation: Ability to easily adapt to changing contexts, technologies, and approaches; ability to make improvements in own work area.

Duration
Initially for one year, of which the first three months will be probation, with a possibility of extension subject to ICIMOD’s future funding levels.

Remuneration
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as per ICIMOD rules. Salaries and benefits of ICIMOD are competitive compared to other regional organizations.
