HYM Consult Limited was established in 25th of Magh 2063 B.S. under the company Act 2053 of the government of Nepal ( Company registration number 44052/063/064) with the main objective to promote hydropower sector of Nepal through the private investment as a part of contribution to the overall development of the country.

HYM Consult Ltd. was established by an elite group of Nepalese investors alongside a robust team of technicians with a vision to promote hydropower generation in Nepal through private sector investment. The company is currently involved in the development of its first hydropower project, namely Rele Khola Hydropower Project (6 MW) and has already concluded the PPA of this project with NEA and therefore aims on going into the construction phase from the fiscal year 2017/18. Hym Consult Pvt. Ltd. is also eyeing to spread its organizational goal through the successful completion of other similar projects such that the timely completion of these power plants would not only result in significant addition of electrical energy available in the national grid but also ensure optimum mobilization of national finances, bring in investments from various investors, enhance capacities of Nepalese technicians, design engineers and contractors in implementing hydropower projects and create significant employment opportunities.

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting, taxation, bookkeeping, company law, and administration, preferably with experience in the hydropower sector or related project-based companies. This role will be based at our head office in Babarmahal, Kathmandu, and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial management of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and maintain financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and financial reports for management review.
  • Support in the coordination of audits and tax filings, liaising with external auditors and tax authorities as required.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes and identify areas for cost optimization or revenue enhancement.
  • Assist in the implementation of internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department, including filing, correspondence, and document management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and support cross-functional initiatives as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Semi-qualified Chartered Accountant/MBA with a focus on finance or accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, taxation, bookkeeping, company law, and administration.
  • Previous experience in the hydropower sector or project-related companies is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Nepalese accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
