Educational Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is mandatory.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/CXO role within an NBFC, bank, or financial institution.
  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, financial reporting, fund management, and audit handling.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of NRB regulatory framework, accounting standards (NFRS/IFRS), and tax laws in Nepal.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, MIS, budgeting, and portfolio analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with core banking or financial software (e.g., Finacle, T24, SAP) is an added advantage.


Job Description

Job Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for managing the overall financial strategy, planning, and operations of the NBFC. The CFO ensures compliance with Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) regulations, maintains sound financial controls, supports business growth through effective financial structuring, and contributes to strategic decision-making. The role requires strong leadership in financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, taxation, capital adequacy management, and risk oversight, especially in a lending-oriented financial environment.

Industry: Non-Banking Financial Corporation (NBFC)

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the organization’s vision and growth plans.
  • Provide leadership in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and capital planning.
  • Advise the CEO and Board on the financial implications of strategic initiatives and investments.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure full compliance with Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) directives, circulars, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Oversee preparation and timely submission of statutory, tax, and regulatory reports.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulators.

Treasury &  Fund Management

  • Manage the company’s liquidity, funding sources, and cash flow to support lending operations.
  • Develop strategies for optimal capital structure and ensure maintenance of capital adequacy ratios as prescribed by NRB.
  • Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors to secure funding lines and maintain creditworthiness.

Financial Control & Risk Management

  • Establish and monitor strong internal controls, accounting standards, and risk management frameworks.
  • Ensure integrity in financial transactions, credit quality, provisioning, and asset-liability management.
  • Monitor portfolio risks and assist in developing policies to minimize financial exposure.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounts team.
  • Promote financial literacy and budget discipline across departments.
  • Coordinate with other departments for cost control, performance monitoring, and project evaluations.

Business Support & Growth

  • Support business teams in pricing, product profitability analysis, and financial feasibility of new projects or loan schemes.
  • Provide insights on financial trends, trade finance opportunities, and cost optimization to enhance competitiveness.
