Job Description

The Finance Assistant will be responsible for coordinating and processing all types of financial matters and support Senior Finance and Compliance Manager for ensuring effective and efficient administrative management and implementation and other areas of financial management. The Finance Assistant will report to the Senior Finance and Compliance Manager.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Manage petty cash and prepare vouchers and feed data into relevant systems
  • Assist Senior Finance and Compliance Manager in the closing of monthly accounts and in preparing financial statements for submission and other accounting and financial transactions on need
  • Keep up-to-date documents/reports/guidelines/audit files relating to finance in an appropriate manner
  • Assist in processing of payments to suppliers/subcontractors and vendors for goods and services
  • Assist in processing documents with GON e.g. VAT refund, tax deposits, processing documents for vehicles, expatriate staff visa etc.
  • Assist in online entries and scanning the supporting documents of financial transactions
  • Pay monthly electricity, water supply, telephone bill and others on time
  • Manage kitchen and monthly meal expenses of all staff
  • Maintain and update assets and inventory logbooks and databases on monthly basis
  • Manage the vehicle bookings, fuel coupon as well as the overtime of support staff including drivers, cleaner’s gardeners, guards etc.
  • Undertake periodic field visits
  • Perform any other duties requested by the Senior Finance and Compliance Manager

Selection requirements:

  • Very good command of English and Nepali
  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance/Accounting
  • At least two years of confirmed experience with international project (s) in the area of financial management
  • Have strong analytical & quantitative skills 
  • Have a strong command of IT Office Tools
  • Have good communication skills
  • Demonstrate that you work in teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
  • Ability to manage change
