Roles and responsibilities of this job

Position Summary

The Finance & Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial management, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, operational processes, and business performance reporting. The role will work closely with the CEO to support strategic decision-making, business planning, and organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Management

Lead and manage all finance, accounting, and treasury functions of the company.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Develop and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
Ensure accurate bookkeeping, accounting records, and financial reporting.
Manage banking relationships, cash management, and working capital requirements.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and profitability.

Compliance & Taxation

Ensure full compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
Manage VAT, TDS, Income Tax, and other tax-related filings and obligations.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities.
Ensure timely completion of audits and statutory reporting requirements.
Maintain strong financial controls and governance practices.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Planning

Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises.
Develop financial models and business projections to support strategic initiatives.
Support business planning, investment analysis, and growth strategies.
Monitor key business and financial performance indicators.

Operations Management

Oversee day-to-day operational functions to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop, implement, and improve operational policies, systems, and procedures.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and cost optimization.
Collaborate with department heads to improve productivity and operational performance.
Ensure smooth coordination across departments and business functions.

Risk Management & Internal Controls

Establish and maintain effective internal controls and risk management practices.
Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation measures.
Ensure proper safeguarding of company assets and resources.

SaaS Business Performance (Preferred)

Monitor and analyze SaaS-related metrics such as Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Customer Lifetime Value (LTV), churn rate, and customer profitability.
Support pricing strategy, subscription revenue analysis, and business scalability initiatives.

Leadership & Reporting

Lead, mentor, and develop finance and operations team members.
Establish KPIs and performance measures for relevant functions.
Prepare and present financial and operational reports to the CEO.
Support executive decision-making through data-driven analysis and recommendations.
Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Vendor & Administrative Management

Oversee vendor relationships, procurement processes, and contract administration.
Review commercial agreements from financial and operational perspectives.
Support payroll administration and other business support functions as required.

Education

MBA (Finance), Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent professional qualification.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or business operations, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Experience working in a SaaS (Software as a Service) company will be considered a strong advantage.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of VAT, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance requirements.
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and financial statement preparation.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting standards.
Experience in cash flow management and working capital optimization.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
Experience with accounting software, ERP systems, and business management tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.
