Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a highly experienced Finance and Accounts Manager to lead and manage the overall financial operations of our trading business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial compliance as per Nepalese laws and regulations, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to the Managing Director.

The role requires hands-on expertise in accounting, taxation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance relevant to trading businesses in Nepal.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the complete accounting and finance functions of the company
Prepare and present accurate financial statements, reports, and analysis to the Managing Director
Ensure compliance with Nepal Accounting Standards (NAS), Income Tax Act, VAT Act, and other applicable Nepalese financial laws and regulations
Manage taxation matters including VAT, TDS, income tax, excise duties (if applicable), and statutory filings
Supervise and mentor the accounts and finance team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Handle budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and working capital planning
Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities
Monitor trading margins, inventory valuation, cost controls, and profitability analysis
Establish and maintain internal controls and risk management procedures
Support strategic decision-making through financial insights and business analysis

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Graduate (Masters)

Required Experience:More than 10 years

Other Specification

Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in finance and accounting
At least 3–4 years of experience in a managerial or leadership position
Strong experience in trading business accounting (import/export, inventory, costing, margins)

Excellent knowledge of:

Nepalese taxation system
Financial regulations and compliance requirements
Accounting principles and financial reporting standards
Proven ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Other Skills

In-depth understanding of Nepalese laws, taxation, and regulatory framework
Experience dealing with IRD, customs, banks, and auditors
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and report directly to top management
Strong analytical mindset with a strategic business perspective
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
