Job Description

Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP) is recruiting 1 Field Coordinator – Media Monitoring for its new Peace Monitoring in Nepal- Pilot. The pilot, supported by The Asia Foundation, aims to expand COCAP’s existing protection and conflict prevention initiative, NepalMonior.org into a Peace Monitoring Platform.

Key Responsibilities

Manage logistics of district-level newspapers collection and supervise district focal persons. Conduct trainings and quality control of district focal persons for the pilot. Coordinate verification of newspaper reports and support financial reporting for the project.

Your profile

  • Masters’ degree or comparable in social science, journalism or other relevant fields and at least 4 years of work experience 
  • Experience in conducting trainings
  • Interest in conflict analysis, violence monitoring, and human rights
  • Experience in coordinating staff and logistics
  • Advanced skills in using excel. 
  • Excellent English and Nepali skills in speaking, reading and writing
  • Proficiency in entry of Nepali text using Preety or Unicode 
  • Able to do field trips, including remote areas
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills 

Duration: Initially for 3-months-pilot starting in August 2016. Contract will be extended to 2 years, subject to funding availability. 
Salary: 44,535.00 NRs per month with additional yearly increments and bonuses.
