  • Suaahara District Office (Banke, Dang, Dailekh, Jajarkot, Rukum, Rolpa, Salyan, Pyuthan, Kapilbastu, Arghakhaci, Badiya, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Gulmi, Bajura, Sindhupalchowk)

Required qualifications & experience:

Banke, Dang, Dailekh, Jajarkot, Rukum, Rolpa, Salyan, Pyuthan, Kapilbastu, Arghakhachi Bardiya, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Bajura, Gulmi, Sindhupalchowk (16) - NTAG    

  • At least Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/health with minimum 1 year of work experience in relevant field.

REPORTS TO:  District Coordinator

Major Responsibility:

The Essential Nutrition Actions (ENA)Officer is responsible for supporting the partner organizations and local NGOs in providing technical support or successful planning and implementation of essential nutrition actions activities and health service promotion(HSP) activities. The ENA Officer will work closely with DPHO/DHO, LNGO District Coordinator, EHA Coordinator and local NGO staffs for nutrition and HSP program implementation.
The ENA Officer will be the focal person of health service promotion (HSP) activities.

Program:

  • Ensure that the implementation of the nutrition programs and health service promotion conformto Suaahara guidelines
  • Provide support and supervision on nutrition activities and health service promotion to those staff implementing health and nutrition programs in districts
  • To take a lead role in expansion of Suaahara nutrition and health service promotionprogramming in the districts
  • Ensure proper communication, coordination and harmonization with the different stakeholders involved in nutrition and health service promotionactivities
  • Support for conducting nutrition surveys in all project sites and generate discussion within the nutrition coordinators forums for any issues which needs to be addressed jointly
  • Support delivery of a comprehensive package of nutrition services and health service promotion activities at district
  • Support in a field testing and  pre testing of different training packages and tools
  • Prepare and submit event reports. Document the important case studies,  lesson learnt   

Training/Orientation:

  • Support District Coordinator in obtaining dates for the different training
  • Support NTAG and other trainers in conduct training of at different levels in the district
  • Support DHO/DPHO staff and trainers to organize TOT on Partnership Defined Quality
  • (PDQ) using integrated nutrition package with involvement of HFOMCs at the district level and health facility level
  • Assist in conducting orientation on Strengthening Nutrition through Healthy Timing and Spacing of Pregnancy (HTSP) and Nutrition Counseling at district and community
  • Support to implement CB-IMCI  related training activities in the district   to strengthen IMCI services at  health facility and community
  • Support on reactivate low performing HFOMC or PHC/ORC Management Committee  through orientation at VDC/HF level for strengthening FP, MNCH and Nutrition, GMP, IMCI services
  • Conduct HFOMCs/QI team follow up and review workshops and monthly monitoring visits at health facility
  • Conduct monitoring visits at heath facility to observe FP/ HTSP counseling and nutritional counseling

Coordination:

  • Coordinate with the DHO/DPHO, local NGO and other stakeholders in the implementation of the nutrition program and health service promotion activities.  
  • Report to district coordinator and NTAG training coordinator about all the nutrition activities and any difficulties that may arise.
  • Report to district coordinator and health service promotion coordinators about all the HSP activities and any issues and problem that may arise
  • To report properly and in a appropriate time all relevant nutritional information required for the comprehensive development of the nutrition programs
  • Representing NTAG at the district and other relevant Nutrition related meetings

Administration:

  • Assist in compiling the nutrition activities inputs to donor project reports, with assistance from the appropriate staff
  • Maintain proper systems of filing and ensure that the field office has all relevant technical material on site
  • Keep  all the event based report and  maintain proper documentation of HSP activities

Additional responsibilities:

  • Perform duties as assigned by District Coordinator and Health Service Promotion Coordinator
