Job Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

Evolve is fast growing technology start-up. We’re looking for an individual with deep employee relations expertise to help build the team here at Evolve. 

You will be instrumental in laying the foundation for the Employee Relations team, which includes developing frameworks, guidelines, approaches and practices on multiple tracks that include resource planning, training and development.  

Building and reinforcing Evolve’s culture is a key requirement for this position.

The job requires establishing relationships across the organization and provide subject matter expertise in order to support the mission, culture, and values of Evolve.

Responsibilities:

  • Helps develop employee relations framework within the company based on trust, mutual respect, strong performance management and accountability in support of the goals of the organization
  • Working with a cross-functional team, determine resource needs, develop fulfillment strategies and drive them
  • Develop, manage, maintain and revise ER policies, operating procedures, and activities to ensure compliance, enhance the workplace and promote the company culture
  • Assesses risk in coordination with Leadership and Legal based on current regulatory landscape and anticipated changes
  • Takes the lead in addressing employee issues, complaints, and investigations working in partnership with the Leadership
  • Ensures cases are handled fairly, consistently, transparently, in a timely fashion, and in line with company culture, policies, and appropriate laws
  • Provides oversight and lead employee relations, making recommendations on appropriate courses of action, matching strategy to the complexity, sensitivity, and confidentiality
  • Counsel Leadership on ER issues, trends and risks, and advise on how to handle more serious and complex disciplinary matters
  • Maintain an organized case management system; Ability to run analytics and metrics and produce dashboards
  • Hire and manage ER team members     

Requirements:

We are looking for an individual with a demonstrable track that suggests successful out-of-the-box thinking and a willingness to bootstrap in a high-growth startup. 

  • 3+ years experience as an effective people manager in information technology industry
  • Demonstrated the track record of successful employee relations, training, and development
  • Ability to remain positive, collaborative and objective while under pressure
  • Proven track record of positively influencing leaders, teams, and stakeholders
  • Ability to be a coach, mentor, advise and partner with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
  • Expert knowledge of ER, training, conflict resolution at all levels including executive level
  • Deep understanding of labor laws and other employment-related regulations
  • As a people relations manager, the ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality is a given
