Emergency Response Health Specialist (1 Position)

The incumbent is responsible for assessment, response analysis, design and implementation of the Health component of Plan’s emergency response at the national level. This will include maternal, neonatal and child health as well as adolescent sexual and reproductive health. She/He will need to co-ordinate with the MoHP, WHO cluster other Emergency Response team members and other relevant Plan and partner staff, and to ensure a rapid, proportionate and effective response. S/he will need to ensure response to immediate health issues with simultaneous consideration of longer term needs and possible scenarios. 
 

 

Qualifications: Master’s in Public Health (MPH). At least five (5) years of working experience in community based health work, reproductive health and child health including nutrition. Minimum of one successful assignment in an emergency situation/context is preferable. Strong knowledge and understanding of international and national health standards, including SPHERE and MISP are essential. Experience with participatory approaches to health, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, or other related area. Proven excellent analytical, problem solving and strategic planning skills and strong background in project design, planning, proposal writing and project reporting are highly desirable. Fluency in English essential.
 

 

Term and Location: This position is initially upto 31st October, 2015 and are extendable based on organization’s needs. The position is based on Country Office, Lalitpur.
