National Campaign for Education Nepal, a national level coalition of more than 490 national and grassroots level organizations, is implementing: Civil Society Participation in Education (COPE) Project. It is funded by the European Commission (through a consortium led by National Campaign for Education Nepal and partners includes Global Action Nepal (GAN) and Nepal Disabled Women Association (NDWA). The main objective of this project is to unite various stakeholders in addressing issues related to accountability and governance within the education sector. The project is to be implemented in Dhanusha, Siraha and Rautahat districts of Madesh province and Dailekh, Kalikot, Surkhet districts of Karnali province.

Job Description

Under the supervision of Program Manager, the Documentation, Communication and Research Coordinator will provide support in designing, planning and implementing the program and take overall lead in documentation, communication and research including documentation of research findings to NCE Nepal coalition members other civil society organizations, and the government policy and local bodies at large. S/he will also collaborate with academicians and research networks.

Key Performance Areas

  • Assist program team in designing, implementing and monitoring the projects 
  • Carry out regular documentation which includes preparation of reports of programs and maintaining the data and evidence of the program effectively
  • Support research team to design, create and revise research instruments as necessary to ensure quality data that correlates with research objectivs
  • Collaborate and coordinate with study team to support them to develop research designs, data collection methods
  • Build partnership with research organizations and think tanks
  • Indentify and oversee the implementation of innovative approaches to disseminate information and learing to partners and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure communications are consistent in messaging across the program 
  • Liaise with other relevant institutions and networks
  • Deputize and support Program Manager at NCE Nepal

Educational Qualification And Experience

  • Masters in education or other relevant social sciences
  • 4 years of relevant work experience in the Non-Governmetnal sector, at least 2 years of which must be related to documentation; program planning, development and doing research


Key Requirements

  • Strong background and experience in program planning, implementation and designing monitoring research
  • Experience in working with both researchers and policy makers and program managers in the civil society sector
  • Proven facilitation and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to organize and share information effectively
  • Proven ability to design project and write reports


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of civil society in Nepal
  • High proficiency in English, Nepaliand Computer skills
  • Ability to analyze complex situations, grasp the critical aspects, and make timely and firm decisions
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement & to generate new ideas to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Excellent communicaion skills: Report writing and presentation skills
  • Good Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with colleagues, experts & partners and to work in a multicultural environment with respect & sensitivity of diversity
