  • Suaahara District Office (Bardiya, Kailali, Kachanpur) lead by Helen Keller International (HKI)
  • Suaahara District Office (Banke, Dang, , Dailekh, Jajarkot, Rukum, Rolpa, Salyan, Pyuthan) lead by Save the Children International (SCI)
  • Suaahara District Office (Palpa, Arghakhachi) lead by Nepal Water for Health (NEWAH)

Required qualification & experience:

For Banke, Dang, Dailekh, Jajarkot, Rukum, Rolpa, Salyan, Pyuthan (8) - SCI

  • At least Bachelor Degree (preferable in Public Health/) with 5 years of experience in relevant field

For Palpa, Arghakhachi (2) - NEWAH    

  • At least Bachelor Degree (preferable in Public Health/Development Studies/Health Education) with 2 years of experience in relevant field

Bajhang (1)  - HKI 

  • At least Bachelor Degree (preferable in Public Health/Development Studies/Health Education with 5 years of experience in relevant field

ROLE PURPOSE:

District Coordinator will be responsible for overall management of the project at the district level. S/he oversees and contributes to the implementation of the Suaahara program in the district level with close coordination in partner NGO.The position is also responsible to manage and oversee the operations(HR, Procurement, Security, Inventory, Audit) and financial activities of the district office.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Sr. Cluster Coordinator, Suaahara
Staff reporting to this post:
Direct - ENA Officer, EHA Supervisor, District Agriculture Officer, Jr. Finance & Admin Officer/Finance & Admin Assistant
Indirect: Field Coordinator, Field Supervisor

Budget Responsibilities: The position will overall responsible District Office budget and also monitor PNGO budget and keep track as per plan

Role Dimensions: The position will closely works with Cluster, District and PNGO team members. This position plays significant working relationship with LDO,DAO, DNFCC, DHO, DADO, DAO, DDC and various government line agencies. The position is an account signatory holder of the district bank account.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :

  • Oversee day to day management of Suaahara activities at district level and ensure proper utilization of the resources
  • Effective implementation of programs with close coordination with concerned stakeholders and implementing partner agencies
  • Develop work plan, monitor progress report and forward report at Cluster level
  • Ensure timely planning, implementation and monitoring of the District Implementation Plan (DIP)
  • Collaborate with district line agencies and strengthen networking at the district level to integrate the nutrition, health, WASH (water sanitation and Health) and agriculture components of the program
  • Facilitate partner NGO to support the implementation of the program
  • Monitor and support the field activities of the partner NGOs and provide necessary support, including reviewing their monthly financial reports
  • Manage and supervise district team members
  • Oversee budgetary expenses and monitor financial report
  • Ensure program quality by intensive monitoring plan including GESI perspective
  • Provide timely feedback on program and operations activities through Cluster Office

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Sound experience in program planning, implementation and monitoring
  • Good understanding of community mobilization and GESI
  • Sound knowledge on people management (motivation, team work, interpersonal skills)
  • Coordination and networking skills with partners, stakeholder, government line agencies
  • Analytical and facilitation skill
  • Work experience in integrated program/project
  • Familiar with USAID compliance, rules and regulations will be added value
  • Experience on financial management
  • Good report writing and communication skill
  • Sound knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet
  • Willingness to travel
